This week is North Dakota Severe Summer Awareness Week. Do you have plan? How will you make sure you get warnings, day or night? Where will you seek shelter? The time is now to make a severe weather plan!  These are some things to think about:

Here's something you SHOULDN'T do.  If you are out driving and see a tornado, don't drive toward it.  Drive away from it if possible by taking perpendicular roads away from the circulation.  If this is not possible and impact is imminent, get to the lowest area possible (i.e. culvert in a ditch) and cover your head as beast you can.

 

 

Here's something you can do, but be cautious as tornadoes can change speed and direction rapidly and easily.
