Kirkwood posted this message on their website:
"The situation we are facing is unprecedented with the landscape changing on an hourly basis. The role we play in our communities as a provider of employment, goods, services and commerce is an important one. We are home to a number of national, regional, and locally owned businesses and must consider the impact of every decision we make. Certain stores and restaurants are following their own corporate or owner guidelines for temporary closures and modified operating hours.
To date, we have taken the following preventative measures:
·Based on guidelines from the CDC regarding public meetings and events, and out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to cancel or postpone all mall events, including our Easter photo program.
·Increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing of all high traffic common areas with an enhanced focus on all touchpoints with CDC-recommended cleaning agents.
·Closed our children’s play area until further notice.
·We will continue to work with our owner, CBL Properties, to monitor the situation and the government’s response. If there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the shopping center, we will work with local, state, and federal health officials to implement the proper next steps.
