See The Inside Of Jon Bon Jovi's New Honky Tonk In Downtown Nashville

Jon Bon Jovi is blending rock into the country music culture on Lower Broadway in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

The rocker and his band marked the opening weekend of JBJ’s Nashville, Jon Bon Jovi's Live Music Rooftop Bar & Restaurant, with an exclusive first-look of the venue on Thursday afternoon (June 6). The five-story venue will offer music and entertainment, dining and cocktails named with inspiration from some of Bon Jovi’s most iconic hits. JBJ’s Nashville also spotlights photos and memorabilia spanning decades. The bar is located at 405 Broadway, at the intersection of Broadway and Fourth Avenue.

Plans for Bon Jovi’s newly bar stem from the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s love of Music City, thanks to collaborations with Nashville-based singer-songwriters and recording music in local studios. The band recorded their new album, Forever, in a Nashville recording studio. Bon Jovi said of the Grammy Award-winning band’s 16th studio album: “This record is a return to joy. From the writing, through the recording process, this is turn up the volume, feel good Bon Jovi.

“For the first time in 10 years, I have joy,” he said of the album, which he produced with John Shanks. “I had lost touch with it for a number of reasons, and I’d set out to find it while writing and making this record. At the completion of the project, I realized I was at peace. I really found joy. ...Forever is an opportunity to show that you can look back with one foot firmly entrenched in the future. And that only comes with age, wisdom, and experience.”

Bon Jovi teamed up with Big Plan Holdings, which confirmed plans for the bar earlier this year, to bring JBJ’s Nashville to life. JBJ’s Nashville is a five-story, 37,000-square-foot venue that includes two rooftop spaces and several stages, including a unique three-tiered stage on the first floor. Bon Jovi becomes the first rock artist to open a bar on Lower Broadway in Downtown Nashville, joining Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert and other country stars on the famous stretch of honky tonks. In addition to Bon Jovi, the most recent bars to open with an artist’s name are Bell Bottoms Up (Lainey Wilson) and This Bar (Morgan Wallen). Bon Jovi’s bar opens with CMA Fest underway, the annual festival that’s hailed the longest-running country festival in the world. the 51st year kicked off on Thursday and runs through Sunday (June 9). Ashley McBryde and Jelly Roll will host a televised concert special airing on Tuesday, June 25 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on ABC and streaming the next day on Hulu.

“We’re looking forward to having a place in Nashville that we call home,” Bon Jovi previously said in a statement, per Rolling Stone. “We have had wonderful times in Nashville recording several albums and working with some of the finest people in all the music business. I can’t wait to toast all of Broadway and get to know our neighbors.”

Bon Jovi, marking more than four decades as a band, will celebrate Forever’s release with an exclusive iHeartRadio Album Release Party on Friday (June 7).
