By Joe Skurzewski

FRISCO, Texas – A team of airmen from Minot Air Force Base played a key part in the pregame festivities at the FCS National Championship game, conducting a flyover in a B-52H Stratofortress.

According to the Bison Facebook page, the team of six airmen showed up at Minot Air Force Base around 5 a.m. and departed around 7:30 a.m. for a roughly three-hour flight to Frisco.

The crew continuously monitored their progress so they arrived at the exact time, adjusting route and airspeed.

The crew included: Col. Scott Maytan, Maj. Scott Lechner, Capt. Reginald Mora, Capt. Brandon Peters, 1st Lt. William Godby, and 1st Lt. Mitchell Redmond.

Minot resident David Lakefield, who traveled to Frisco for the big game, shared cell phone video with us of the flyover.
